Issues Consultation 3: Equality Impact Assessment Scoping Report
This is the consultation page for the New Local Plan Equality Impact Assessment Scoping Report.
The Equalities Act 2010 requires Council's to undertake Equality Impact Assessments where a decision may affect equality. The New Local Plan has the potential to affect equality through its policies. The purpose of the Equality Impact Assessment is therefore to ensure that the policies proposed in the New Local Plan do not have a negative impact on the socio-economic status of local residents, or on people with a protected equality characteristic. The policies should where possible promote equality and community cohesion.
The Equality Impact Assessment Scoping Report has considered the local socio-economic circumstances and protected equality characteristics, and identified a potential list of equality considerations for the New Local Plan.
