The Canvey Town Centre Masterplan sets out proposals for regenerating the town centre on Canvey over the next 10 to 15 years.
The masterplan was prepared by a company called BDP on behalf of the Castle Point Regeneration Partnership. The Regeneration Partnership comprises all those organisations involved in the delivery of regeneration in Castle Point.
Castle Point Borough Council is the local Planning Authority, and as such is a member of the Regeneration Partnership. The Council is responsible for making decisions on planning applications and therefore if the development aspects of the masterplan are to be delivered, it needs to be adopted as part of the Local Development Framework.
Members of the Special Policy Development Group and Canvey Town Council have given consideration as to whether it is appropriate for the Canvey Town Centre Masterplan to be adopted as part of the Local Development Framework. The findings of their work are set out in the Supporting Report.
Before the Canvey Town Centre Masterplan is adopted as part of the Local Development Framework it is important that local residents and other consultees have a chance to comment on the document. A lot of consultation was undertaken during the preparation of the Canvey Town Centre Masterplan through the regeneration shop. This is a final opportunity for people to have their say.

The deadline for comments has been extended to Monday 5th September 2011. Comments received after this time will not be accepted as the Council wishes to deal with the outcomes of consultation in an efficient manner.
All comments will be placed upon this website, alongside the consultees name, shortly after the consultation has closed.
