Welcome to Castle Point Borough Council's Planning Policy Consultation Website

Castle Point Borough Council has decided to start work on preparing a New  Local Plan for Benfleet, Canvey, Hadleigh and Thundersley.

The New  Local Plan will set out how the Council will protect important local features such as wildlife, the Green Belt and historic buildings from inappropriate development. It will also decide where and how new development could take place to avoid harm to those parts of the environment that local people value. It will also identify how new homes and jobs will be supported by roads, utilities, services and shops in order to ensure that Castle Point remains a good place to live and run a business.

The Council needs your help to prepare the New  Local Plan. As a local resident, business or stakeholder you will know best about the issues that need to be addressed in Castle Point.

You may also have views about matters that affect the future of Castle Point. For example you may have views about the economy, the environment, services and facilities for older people, or homes and jobs for younger generations.

In order that we can write a New  Local Plan that is based on your local knowledge, and respond to your views about the future, please let us know your views.
